Andariya is a bilingual digital cultural multimedia platform and cross-cultural enterprise in Sudan, South Sudan & the East and Horn of Africa, established in 2015. Andariya creates multimedia content across its omni-channels & builds creative cultural exchange & research projects.

Overview & Responsibility

As a Creative Director for Andariya in Sudan, you will craft high-level creative strategies that solve business needs, think across Andariya platforms and beyond, manage complex projects, and create tailored content across channels driving the objectives of Andariya and its partners. You will effectively communicate with key stakeholders, and external media and creative agencies/freelancers. You will work with senior leadership to create processes and establish best practices that impact the broader department. And finally, you will work towards preserving the team culture of collaboration, teamwork, innovation, inspiration, and foster positive internal and external relationships. The role engages the CD with the founders, editors, videographers/photographers, writers, translators, platform partners, clients and others within and beyond Sudan. In such interactions, the CD will represent themselves, their capacity and the brand to the best of their ability.

A day in the life of the Creative Director

· Partnering with multiple communities, including vulnerable and under-represented communities to create engaging content around COVID19

· Researching, creating, presenting, reviewing and improving campaign ideas and presentation decks

· Working through creative messaging feedback with Senior Editor

· Oversee all creative content planning, execution and production with a divere array of team members and partners

· Reviewing all creative content and liaise with team members on publishing and feedback analysis

· Plan and execute influencer and expert led campaigns and content

· Create informative documentation to improve creative processes internally across diverse teams

As a Creative Director, you are responsible for:

· Defining the creative strategy for all content and execution planning

· Conceptualizing, designining, and executing innovative ad campaigns/projects with partnerships where feasible

· Delivery of engaging multimedia content to meet the project’s objectives and engage target communities

· Working closely with the editorial team to brainstorm ideas and concepts

· Partner with and/or lead art directors, copywriters, designers, program managers, and content producers to create audience-focused content that deliver on project objectives

· Deliver high-quality copy for campaigns across different platform touch-points

· Provide in-depth understanding of copy-writing for all formats—digital, print, out-of-home, video and audio scripts, and more

· Synthesize strategic research and/or data to develop campaign ideas and optimal creative content engagement

· Lead the creation of creative content strategies and presentations; present ideas and concepts to management frequently to receive buy in and resource allocation

· Make creative and balanced trade-off decisions between teams, clients, and audience needs

· Contributing consistent creative ideas to solidify the overall Andariya’s digital content growth on the website and social media

Basic Qualifications

· 8+ years of creative experience in an agency or in-house setting delivering stand-out creative work on campaigns across a variety of digital and traditional touch-points

· A diverse portfolio (available online)

· Proven ability to ideate for film, print, digital, radio and social

· Passion for experimentation and innovation

· Ability to juggle many projects and consistently deliver results despite competing priorities

· Experience driving creative alignment with leadership and stakeholders

· Outstanding verbal skills

· Relentlessly high creative standards and exceptional attention to detail

· Excellent presentation skills and ability to gracefully defend creative decisions to leadership

· An understanding of creative development timelines and production process

· Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, highly entrepreneurial environment with multiple stakeholders and regulatory requirements
