Islam Abu Algassim
Islam is a Sudanese blogger who has been active since 2007, specializing in social media in the Middle East and North Africa. She is also a co-founder of the “Sudanese Bloggers Without Borders” Network, established in 2010. Islam contributed to the launch of several initiatives, including “Are You Still Standing in the Same Place?”, the initiative to lift U.S. technology sanctions on Sudanese people, and the “Feminizing Public Discourse” initiative. She received the Best Academic Article Award from the Al-Ghad Institute for her paper, “How to Use Big Data to Improve Public Transportation,” as well as the Best Director Award from the Yes Academy. She also holds a certificate in statistical data analysis from the World Bank.
